Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Building an Inclusive Bank for Global Impact
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to who we are and how we work. As a multilateral development bank serving members around the world, our strength lies in the diversity of our people, perspectives, and experiences. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute to sustainable infrastructure and development outcomes.
Inclusion at AIIB is not a standalone initiative; it is embedded in our culture, leadership, and ways of working, enabling our staff to do their best work and grow meaningful careers.
EDGE certified
AIIB is proud to be EDGE Certified at the EDGE Move level in 2026, a globally recognized standard for gender and intersectional equity in the workplace.
EDGE Move recognizes organizations that go beyond commitment and are actively delivering progress on equity. The certification is awarded through a rigorous, independent, third-party assessment across four key areas: representation across the talent pipeline, pay equity, the effectiveness of policies and practices, and the inclusiveness of workplace culture.
Renewed every two years, EDGE Certification is data-driven and outcomes-focused, ensuring that our commitments translate into measurable results.
For AIIB, achieving EDGE Move is both a recognition of how far we have come and a clear signal to current and future colleagues that we are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
Key initiatives and DEI programs
Diversity strengthens our Bank by bringing together a wider range of perspectives, experiences, and ways of thinking, leading to better decisions, more innovative solutions, and outcomes that truly reflect the members and communities we serve.
Our mentoring initiatives are designed to support professional growth, career development, and knowledge‑sharing across the organization. Mentoring at AIIB strengthens connections across teams, functions, and regions, while reinforcing a culture of learning and inclusion.
